Artist Statement: I find value in producing artwork that develops from issues found within the large diversity of the Jewish community. As a painter I use my background in cultural Anthropology and Art History to respond to and offer insight and critique regarding current events pertaining to theology, secular life, and politics both domestic and abroad.

I tend to produce paintings in series, by which I construct the painting choosing the style most serving of the overarching concept. I often refer to a language of motifs to address important themes in my work.

While one may not have access to all the iconography, historical or cultural references that appear both subtly and overtly in my paintings; it is my hope that the nature of interpretation will reveal universal aspects of social activism, protest, and the quest for understanding, that comprise the core of the human spirit.
